Riders tend to be so busy taking care of their horses, they often fail to take care of themselves. Riders at every level, need to develop the mentality of an athlete.  As such, we should fine tune our bodies, just as a musician fine tunes her instrument.  How your body is functioning is a direct reflection on how your horse will perform.

It has been well documented that your horse feels pain or discomfort that you may be feeling.  While riding, our physical issues will show up in the horse as:

  • Lameness or poor tracking of the hind legs
  • Behavioral problems
  • Increased muscle development on one side
  • Unevenness or wearing of the hoof on one foot more than the other
  • Consistent wrong canter leads
  • Resistance
  • Evasion
